Agricultural systems feed the growing population of our country and the world. These diverse systems require the use, maintenance, and repair of agricultural structures, technicalystems, and power equipment. From dairy barns to greenhouses, from irrigation systems to wind turbines, and from tractors to harvesters, agricultural systems must be designed and maintained for efficient operation. As new technologies continue to alter the use of agricultural machinery, small engines, and outdoor power equipment, the demand for highly technical skills increases. The Agricultural, Food and Natural Resources (AFNR) Career Cluster Content Standards help secondary and post secondary programs maintain quality and consistency. Employers expect graduates of agricultural and power systems certificate and degree programs to perform their first day on the job.
